Tim Burnham, PE, PMP

Managing Principal

Tim started his career with Toyota Motor Manufacturing, working with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen techniques, and teaming concepts. After graduation, he took a position as an Electrical Process Engineer in a plastics extrusion production facility. Over the next few years, he began taking on roles of increasing responsibility at several companies in areas including Facilities and Plant Engineering. After receiving his PE, Tim transitioned to Engineering Consulting; having experience as both a client and a consultant has enabled him to better relate to Varo’s clients’ needs, concerns, and expectations.

Shawn Lambacher

Shawn started his career with Arthur Anderson as a management staff consultant. From there, he then held various roles with Owens Corning in many diverse businesses over a period of 18 years. His roles included Business Development, Strategic Planning, General Manager, Business Planning Manager, and Credit Manager. Shawn's vast experience provides great benefit to the company in areas including Finance/Accounting, Client Site Services, Human Resources, and Strategic Planning.

Doug has 28 years of extensive and diversified experience in the design and installation of electrical systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, and utility facilities. His project experience includes: electrical substation physical design; electrical power and motor control; critical power systems and telecommunication infrastructure design; campus power distribution; electrical building systems design and integration; power system analysis and studies; as well as critical power systems and raised floor space.

Dave is a highly qualified General Manager with 16 years experience in the engineering consulting industry, 20 years in the Nuclear industry, and 30 total years of industry experience. He has over 25 years of project management and project controls, and 14 years of business unit (including P&L) operations/management experience.

Andrew R. Lee, PE

Andy’s approach to execution is simple at its core – a team coming together to reach a common goal measured by success from all viewpoints. His business acumen and problem solving abilities started at an early age from being part of a family business in Northwest Ohio. Andy continued his growth with a BA in Physics and Mathematics from Otterbein University (formerly known as Otterbein College), and a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University. He garnered a broad range of experience in multiple discipline projects from being an onsite Resident Engineer for 6 years at a multi-million dollar high profile project. Dealing with both technical and commercial aspects, Andy’s attention to detail and ability to manage large multi-discipline projects provided a solid foundation for a leadership position.

While at Varo, Andy began his career as a Structural Engineer with a focus on Bulk Material Handling. His proven results as a consulting engineer exhibits his expertise and talents which will continue to be demonstrated through the same teamwork that he is accustomed to.

Dane Cox

Vice President, Technical Director

After graduating from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Dane joined Varo as a design engineer and worked his way up to his current position as Vice President, Technical Director. This allowed him the opportunity to gain technical and operational perspective at multiple levels within the organization. Dane’s exposure to multiple facets within the industrial manufacturing industry has provided him diverse experience, while his desire to see projects materialize and the need to help clients solve their challenges has provided a track record with over 17+ years of success.

Mark Ring

Vice President, Project Management Office

Mark has more than 20 years of experience in project management, estimating, consulting, and operational management of people and processes. As each project is unique, his ability to think on his feet allows him to streamline inefficient processes effectively to save time and money. His ability to work with internal teams as a coach on project scheduling, project risk and project objectives has strengthened the core of meeting expectations of customers and company goals.

Karl has more than 39 years of experience providing engineering, consulting, and design services with a specialized focus in industrial/bulk material handling facilities. His design and project management expertise includes various modes of conveying, screening, sampling, and storage for a variety of bulk materials. His extensive project experience includes all facets of systems design for industrial and bulk materials handling projects, from conceptual design and budget costs, through final design document preparation, bid evaluation, and construction phase services.

Trent Stepp, PMP

Associate Vice President, Transmission and Distribution

Trent has over 27 years of experience that includes program/project management, electrical and construction coordination, electrical and power systems design, and AutoCAD and MicroStation design and coordination. He also has experience in cost engineering for a variety of industrial, manufacturing, and power generation facilities. Since joining Varo in 2000, Trent has continuously taken on increasing responsibilities while significantly growing and developing the transmission & distribution group within the electrical department.

Jeremy G. Rhodes

Jeremy is a highly motivated leader with 19 years experience in the Engineering Consulting industry. Mr. Rhodes is a results driven leader with proficient communication skills, and is effective at managing personnel, vendor, and client relationships.
